Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commis 1 – Pastry Chef to join our culinary team in a prestigious hotel in Muscat, Oman. This role focuses on assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of high-quality pastry, bakery, and dessert items, ensuring consistency and excellence in every creation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily preparation and production of pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts according to hotel standards.
• Support the Pastry Chef in maintaining quality control and presentation of all pastry items.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to meet service deadlines and special event requirements.
• Participate in inventory management and stock replenishment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine dining establishment.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and dessert plating.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry arts.
• Relevant culinary certification or diploma is an advantage.
