Role Overview
Benteyba is seeking an experienced Accountant (Comptable) to join our finance team in Tunis. This position requires a solid foundation in general accounting principles and tax regulations, with proven ability to manage financial records accurately and ensure compliance with local standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance with Tunisian fiscal regulations
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities
- Support internal and external audit processes with proper documentation
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Process payroll and manage social security declarations
- Generate financial reports for management decision-making
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and tax legislation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related field
- Proven professional experience as an Accountant in a corporate or firm environment
- Strong command of general accounting principles and practices
- In-depth knowledge of Tunisian tax law and fiscal compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- High attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or local equivalent) is a plus
- Experience with multi-entity or international accounting
- Familiarity with IFRS standards
- Previous experience in a similar industry sector
- Bilingual proficiency in French and Arabic; English is an asset
