Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist in General Surgery to join a leading healthcare facility in Oman. This role focuses on providing expert surgical care in general and laparoscopic surgery, emergency and trauma surgery, and a range of gastrointestinal and soft tissue procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hernia repair, gallbladder and appendix surgery, and minor surgical interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide spectrum of general surgical procedures including elective and emergency surgeries.
• Conduct laparoscopic surgeries for conditions such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and hernia repair.
• Manage emergency and trauma cases with prompt assessment and surgical intervention.
• Carry out gastrointestinal surgical procedures including bowel resections and peptic ulcer surgery.
• Perform hernia repair surgeries using both open and laparoscopic techniques.
• Handle gallbladder and appendix surgeries with high precision and patient safety.
• Execute soft tissue and minor surgical procedures such as excision of skin lesions and abscess drainage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to clinical guidelines and infection control protocols.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or specialist qualification in General Surgery.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience as a practicing general surgeon.
• Proven expertise in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.
• Strong skills in emergency and trauma surgical management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with a focus on patient safety.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Oman is preferred.
