Role Summary
Egis, a global leader in architecture, consulting, construction engineering, and mobility services, is seeking a dedicated Civil Inspector to join our project team in Kuwait. This role is critical to ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and local regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will perform on-site inspections, verify workmanship quality, and collaborate closely with project engineers, contractors, and consultants to deliver intelligent infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections of civil works including earthworks, sub-base, base course, asphalt paving, concrete structures, drainage systems, and roadworks.
- Verify compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and project specifications.
- Monitor and document material testing activities (compaction, concrete slump, cube testing, asphalt core density) in coordination with accredited laboratories.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and daily site logs for submission to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) protocols on site, including PPE compliance, safe work method statements, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and verify closure of NCRs.
- Assist in the review of as-built drawings and red-line mark-ups for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) team in developing and updating project quality plans and inspection checklists.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Civil Inspector or Site QA/QC Inspector on major infrastructure, highways, or building projects in the GCC region.
- In-depth knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and Kuwait Municipality/MOPW standards for civil construction materials and workmanship.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural and civil drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Valid QA/QC certification (e.g., ASQ CQI, ICQI, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in using inspection software, MS Office, and digital reporting tools.
