About the Role
V2X is seeking an experienced Laundry Service Lead to oversee daily laundry operations at our facility in Qatar. Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all laundry facility operations including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and distribution of linens, uniforms, and personal garments.
- Manage a team of laundry attendants and technicians: assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, conduct performance reviews, and provide on-the-job training.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stain removal, fabric care, chemical handling, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels of detergents, chemicals, spare parts, and supplies; coordinate procurement to prevent stockouts.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local labor laws, and V2X quality standards; conduct daily inspections and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, rework rate, utility consumption, and cost per pound; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with facility management and client representatives to meet surge demands, special requests, and emergency requirements.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for washers, dryers, presses, and conveyor systems; liaise with vendors for repairs.
- Manage shift schedules, overtime allocation, and leave planning to ensure 24/7 coverage where required.
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for senior management highlighting volume trends, cost savings, and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in commercial or industrial laundry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Proven track record managing high-volume laundry facilities (5,000+ lbs/day) in hospitality, healthcare, or government contracting environments.
- In-depth knowledge of textile science, chemical dispensing systems, wash formulas, and fabric-specific care protocols.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to train, motivate, and retain a multicultural workforce.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and laundry management software (e.g., GIRBAU, Jensen, or proprietary platforms).
- Valid certification in Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA 30-hour or equivalent) and chemical handling (HAZCOM/GHS).
- Fluent in English; Arabic language proficiency is highly desirable for local coordination.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances for base access in Qatar.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with V2X, PAE, Amentum, KBR, or similar government services contractors.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean methodology certification for process optimization.
- Familiarity with RFID/barcode tracking systems for linen lifecycle management.
- Background in sustainability initiatives: water reclamation, energy-efficient equipment, eco-friendly detergents.
- Prior work in GCC region (Qatar, UAE, KSA) with knowledge of local labor regulations and cultural nuances.
