Heart of House Specialist – Hotel Operations
We are seeking a dedicated Heart of House Specialist to join our Food and Beverage & Culinary team at a premier hotel in Qatar. This role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency across all back-of-house and utility areas. The successful candidate will support vital hotel functions, ensuring seamless daily operations for guests and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of utility areas, storage rooms, receiving docks, and service corridors.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dishwashing stations, and food preparation surfaces in compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous material handling according to hotel sustainability policies.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment; report maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with deep-cleaning projects, seasonal turnovers, and special event set-up/breakdown as required.
- Adhere to brand standards, health & safety protocols, and internal audit checklists.
- Collaborate with stewarding, culinary, and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflow during peak periods.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Utility Cleaner, Steward, or Back-of-House Attendant in a 4- or 5-star hotel or high-volume restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning chemicals, equipment (auto-scrubbers, pressure washers), and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Familiarity with HACCP, ISO 22000, or local municipality food safety guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift up to 25 kg, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic English communication skills; Arabic or additional languages are an advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or facilities management is preferred.
