As a Barista at The View Bouznika, you will be the heart of our café experience — crafting high-quality beverages, delivering outstanding guest service, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, pour-over, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, temperature, and presentation of all beverages served to guests.
- Provide warm, attentive, and personalized service to every customer, creating a memorable café experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station throughout all shifts.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment properly, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations as required by local standards and internal policies.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service flow during peak and off-peak hours.
- Handle customer inquiries, special requests, and feedback with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Support menu development by contributing ideas for seasonal drinks, new flavor combinations, and promotional offerings.
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system and handle cash, card payments, and vouchers responsibly.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures for the café area, including setup, cleaning, and restocking tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar food and beverage service role.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, bean varieties, roasting profiles, and brewing methods.
- Ability to operate and maintain professional-grade espresso machines and café equipment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Latte art skills and the ability to create visually appealing beverage presentations.
- Certification from a recognized barista training program or coffee academy.
- Familiarity with specialty coffee trends, single-origin beans, and third-wave coffee culture.
- Experience with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
- Multilingual abilities — proficiency in Arabic, French, and/or English is a strong asset.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality.
