Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager (Chargé des achats) to oversee and manage all procurement activities related to our organizational structure. Based in Algiers, Algeria, this role is critical to ensuring cost-effective sourcing, supplier relationship management, and the seamless flow of goods and services required for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for managing all procurement processes related to the organization.
- Lead and conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure the most favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and budget constraints.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining a robust vendor database.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain developments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Resolve supplier disputes, delivery issues, and quality concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Generate regular procurement reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with local procurement regulations and organizational procurement guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Proven professional experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a track record of achieving cost reductions.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier sourcing, and vendor evaluation.
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in office management tools and procurement software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in French is required; proficiency in Arabic and/or English is a strong asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- A university degree in business administration, supply chain management, commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a similar industry or organizational environment in Algeria.
- Familiarity with Algerian commercial law and import/export regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term strategic supplier partnerships.
