Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician for a replacement position based in Algeria with operational ties to Gipuzkoa. Key Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, motors, and control panels
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults using schematics, PLC logic, and testing instruments
• Perform installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical systems and components
• Conduct inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential failures before they occur
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in CMMS
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime during planned and unplanned outages
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, lockout-tagout procedures, and company standards
• Support shutdown and turnaround activities with electrical expertise
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and contractors
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance strategies

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician in industrial, oil & gas, or manufacturing settings
• Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage systems, motor controls, VFDs, and PLCs
• Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo)
• Understanding of IEC/NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx)
• Technical certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or related field
• Valid electrical license or competency certification recognized in Algeria
