Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join our Banquets team in Amman, Oman. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen workers, ensuring the highest standards of food presentation and decorative displays for banquet events.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of cooks and kitchen staff during banquet operations.
• Determine how food should be presented and create decorative displays for buffet and plated events.
• Ensure all dishes meet quality and consistency standards before service.
• Assist in menu planning and recipe development for banquet menus.
• Maintain inventory levels and control food costs.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen team members.
• Enforce sanitation and safety regulations in the kitchen.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume banquet or catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation, and decorative plating.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Degree or diploma in culinary arts or related field preferred.
• Food safety certification is a plus.
