Position Overview
HBKU is seeking an accomplished and visionary Head of Education Programming to lead the strategic design, development, and implementation of educational programs that align with the university's mission and the broader goals of Qatar Foundation. This senior leadership role requires a dynamic professional with deep expertise in academic program development, curriculum innovation, and educational strategy within higher education or research-driven institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning, design, and execution of education programming initiatives across HBKU's colleges and research centers.
- Develop and implement innovative educational frameworks that support multidisciplinary learning, research integration, and student-centered pedagogy.
- Collaborate with faculty, academic leadership, and external stakeholders to identify emerging educational needs and design responsive programs.
- Oversee curriculum development processes, ensuring alignment with international accreditation standards and Qatar's national education vision.
- Manage program evaluation and quality assurance processes to continuously improve educational outcomes and learner experiences.
- Build and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and academic institutions to enhance program relevance and create experiential learning opportunities.
- Supervise and mentor a team of education program specialists, coordinators, and support staff.
- Develop and manage budgets related to education programming, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior leadership and governing bodies on program performance and strategic initiatives.
- Stay current with global trends in higher education, digital learning, and pedagogical innovation to position HBKU as a leader in education programming.
Required Qualifications
- A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in education program development, academic leadership, or curriculum design, preferably within a higher education or research institution.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale educational programming initiatives from concept through implementation and evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation frameworks, quality assurance processes, and international standards in higher education.
- Proven track record of building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders including faculty, industry partners, and government entities.

- Outstanding leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.

- Deep understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches, including blended learning, competency-based education, and experiential learning models.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision making and the use of analytics to inform program design and improvement.

- Strong budget management and resource allocation skills.
