KalSoft seeks an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a full-time contractual position based onsite in Muscat, Oman. This senior-level role demands 12+ years of hands-on expertise managing enterprise-grade Oracle environments. The position is open exclusively to Omani nationals who can demonstrate deep technical mastery across database architecture, performance tuning, and high-availability solutions. The successful candidate will join a dynamic technology team responsible for critical data infrastructure supporting large-scale business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database architectures including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate replication
- Perform advanced performance tuning, SQL optimization, and capacity planning for mission-critical systems
- Manage database security, backup/recovery strategies, and disaster recovery testing procedures
- Automate routine administration tasks using Shell, Python, or Perl scripting
- Collaborate with development teams on schema design, indexing strategies, and application performance
- Execute patching, upgrades, and migrations across Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c versions
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide 24/7 on-call support rotation
- Document technical procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for team reference
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years progressive Oracle DBA experience in enterprise production environments
- Expert-level proficiency with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN backup/recovery
- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, or Solaris)
- Proven track record in performance tuning, SQL optimization, and execution plan analysis
- Experience with cloud database services (OCI, AWS RDS, or Azure) preferred
- Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM) highly valued
- Must be an Omani national with valid residency and work authorization
