We are currently seeking a Finance Analyst to join our team based in Algiers, Algeria.
About the Role
The Finance Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Abbott's financial operations in the Algerian market. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and global corporate standards. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with corporate and local requirements
- Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles for the Algerian market
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with Algerian tax regulations, accounting standards, and Abbott's global financial policies
- Assist in the preparation of management presentations and financial dashboards for senior leadership
- Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to evaluate business cases and investment proposals
- Perform cost analysis and profitability reviews across product lines and business segments
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate documentation and data
- Maintain and improve financial models, tools, and processes to enhance reporting efficiency
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable reconciliations as needed
- Monitor cash flow and working capital metrics for the local entity
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related finance role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Knowledge of Algerian tax and regulatory environment is a strong advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Professional proficiency in both English and French is required; Arabic language skills are an asset
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
- Familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS reporting standards
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or CFA) is a plus
- Prior experience working in a multinational corporate environment
