Role Overview
A prestigious British International School in Bahrain is seeking an experienced and dedicated ICT Teacher to join its academic team starting August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high-quality Information and Communication Technology instruction within a British curriculum framework, fostering digital literacy and technological competence among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ICT lessons aligned with the British National Curriculum and/or international standards
- Teach a range of ICT topics including computer science fundamentals, programming, digital literacy, data management, and multimedia applications
- Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Integrate modern educational technology tools and digital resources into daily classroom instruction
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members on cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development programs, and parent-teacher conferences
- Stay current with advancements in ICT education, emerging technologies, and best teaching practices
- Supervise and support students in extracurricular technology clubs, coding workshops, and digital competitions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education (ICT specialization), or a closely related field
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience teaching ICT in a British or international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the British curriculum standards for ICT and Computing
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scratch, HTML/CSS, and familiarity with database management
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Experience with GCSE and/or A-Level ICT/Computer Science instruction
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and educational platforms such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, or Moodle
- Experience integrating STEM/STEAM approaches into ICT teaching
- Previous teaching experience in the Middle East or international school environments
