- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine pipe layouts, sizes, and configurations.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Select and prepare appropriate pipe materials, fittings, and valves for installation.
- Install and secure pipes in position by using brackets, clamps, welding, or other methods.
- Ensure proper alignment of pipes and maintain accurate levels and grades.
- Perform calculations to determine pipe dimensions, angles, and offsets.
- Conduct pressure tests to identify and repair leaks in piping systems.
- Install and connect pipe supports and hangers to ensure stable and secure piping systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as welders and plumbers, to complete projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders.
Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter, working with various pipe sizes, including threaded and welded pipes
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications related to pipe installation
Strong knowledge of different pipe materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC
Ability to measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend pipes using appropriate tools and equipment
Experience in both threaded and welded pipe installations
Familiarity with different pipe joining methods, including threading, welding, and grooving
Understanding of pipe supports, hangers, and other components used in piping systems
Knowledge of pipe fitting codes, standards, and industry best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot pipe system issues
