About the Role
As a Design Technician at YAZAKI, you will play a critical role in the design and development of automotive wiring harnesses and electrical components. You will work closely with engineering teams to translate product requirements into precise technical drawings and specifications, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics for automotive wiring harnesses using CAD software
- Collaborate with design engineers to develop and refine product designs based on customer specifications
- Conduct design reviews and ensure all documentation meets YAZAKI quality standards and automotive industry regulations
- Support prototyping and testing phases by providing accurate design data and modifications
- Maintain and update design documentation, including bill of materials, assembly drawings, and revision logs
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design processes and reduce production costs
- Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to resolve design-related issues during the production cycle
- Stay current with automotive industry trends, new materials, and emerging wiring technologies
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a design or technical drafting role, preferably within the automotive sector
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar design tools)
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring systems, harness design principles, and automotive components
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 or other automotive quality management standards is an asset

- CAD Design & Drafting — Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D design software
- Automotive Wiring Harness Design — Understanding of wire routing, connector selection, and harness assembly
- Technical Documentation — Ability to create clear, comprehensive design records and reports
