About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Spare Parts Manager to lead the automotive spare parts division. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of spare parts operations, including inventory management, procurement, supplier relations, and team performance. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure parts availability to support service and sales targets.
Core Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels, implement cycle counts, and reduce obsolete inventory through data-driven forecasting.
- Procurement & Supplier Relations: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality parts, and timely deliveries.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train parts department staff, set performance goals, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization: Streamline warehouse layout, picking, and shipping processes to increase turnaround time and accuracy.
- Reporting & Analysis: Track key metrics such as fill rates, turnover ratios, and order accuracy; provide regular reports to senior management.
- Customer Support: Collaborate with service and sales teams to resolve parts-related issues and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in automotive spare parts management, with a proven track record of inventory control and procurement.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive parts, OEM and aftermarket brands, and vehicle systems.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and inventory management software.
- Leadership: Strong supervisory skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Strategic Sourcing: Ability to negotiate long-term contracts and develop supplier partnerships.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools to drive inventory decisions.
- Lean Principles: Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Multilingual: Fluency in Arabic to interact with local suppliers and customers.
- Certification: APICS CPIM or similar supply chain certification is advantageous.
