Spare Parts Manager – Automotive
We are seeking an experienced Spare Parts Manager – Automotive to oversee all aspects of spare parts operations, inventory control, procurement, and team performance within a dynamic automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily spare parts operations including receiving, stocking, and distribution of automotive parts.
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize obsolescence, and ensure parts availability.
- Oversee procurement processes: vendor selection, negotiation, purchase order management, and supplier relationship management.
- Lead, train, and evaluate the spare parts team; set performance targets and conduct regular reviews.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate, inventory turnover, order accuracy, and backorder levels.
- Coordinate with service, sales, and workshop departments to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and reporting for the spare parts department.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP modules for parts tracking.
- Handle warranty claims, returns, and core exchange processes efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in automotive spare parts management, preferably in a dealership or large aftermarket operation.
- Proven track record in inventory management, procurement, and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts cataloging, OEM/aftermarket parts, and VIN-based identification.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) and advanced Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities in English; Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in Kuwait.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCP, CPIM) or Automotive Parts Management.
- Experience with DMS (Dealer Management Systems) specific to automotive brands.
- Knowledge of GCC automotive market regulations and customs procedures.
- Lean/Six Sigma methodology application in warehouse operations.
