Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the GSMI research group, focusing on the valorization of complex phosphate ores. This position is based in Morocco and contributes to cutting-edge research and innovation across Africa.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work on advanced research projects related to the processing, characterization, and sustainable utilization of complex phosphate mineral resources. This role is ideal for a researcher with a strong background in metallurgy, materials science, or related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on the valorization of complex phosphate ores.
• Develop innovative processes for phosphate ore beneficiation and extraction.
• Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and industry partners.
• Contribute to the supervision of graduate students and junior researchers.

Required Qualifications

• A PhD in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Strong research background in ore characterization, hydrometallurgy, or pyrometallurgy.
• Proven track record of scientific publications in reputable journals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative research environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with advanced mineral characterization techniques (XRD, SEM-EDS, XRF).
• Knowledge of sustainable mining practices and circular economy principles.
• Proficiency in scientific writing and grant proposal development.
• Familiarity with computational modeling tools for process optimization.
