Position Overview
UM6P is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct advanced research in membrane-based pretreatment for seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment focused on developing cutting-edge membrane technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of desalination processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize membrane-based pretreatment systems for seawater reverse osmosis desalination.
- Conduct experimental research on membrane fouling, scaling, and performance evaluation.
- Analyze water quality data and assess pretreatment process efficiency under varying feedwater conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams on desalination and water treatment projects.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Contribute to grant proposals and research funding applications.
- Mentor graduate students and junior researchers within the research group.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Membrane Technology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated research experience in membrane science, desalination, or water treatment technologies.
- Strong background in ultrafiltration (UF), microfiltration (MF), or nanofiltration (NF) membrane processes as pretreatment for RO systems.
- Experience with membrane fabrication, characterization, and performance testing.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques for water quality analysis (e.g., TOC, particle counting, SDI measurement).
- A strong publication record in relevant scientific journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
