About the Role
We are seeking a Database Analyst (Oracle) to join our team in Oman. This position is open exclusively to Local Omani Nationals who hold a valid Family Book. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing Oracle database systems to support organizational data needs and ensure reliable performance across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments in accordance with best practices and security standards.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal query execution and system availability.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas, stored procedures, and data integration workflows.
- Conduct regular data analysis and generate reports to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and relevant data protection regulations within the Oman jurisdiction.
- Provide technical support and documentation for database-related projects and operational procedures.
- Perform data migration, patch management, and version upgrades on Oracle systems as required.
Requirements
- Citizenship: Omani National with a valid Family Book (mandatory).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience working with Oracle Database systems, including SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle administration tools.
- Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, Data Guard, and related Oracle technologies.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures.
- Understanding of data security principles and access control mechanisms within Oracle environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Oracle certification (OCP, OCA, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle services (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS for Oracle).
- Knowledge of additional database platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) is a plus.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience working in government or enterprise IT environments in Oman.
