Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and IMCA-certified diver to join our marine operations team in Qatar. As a Diver, you will be responsible for conducting critical underwater inspections and maintenance tasks on vessels during docking and undocking operations. This role demands precision, safety awareness, and expertise in underwater hull care to ensure vessel integrity and operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

• Underwater Hull Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of hull surfaces, welds, and appendages to identify damage, corrosion, or marine growth.
• Propeller Polishing: Execute propeller polishing and minor repairs to enhance hydrodynamic performance and fuel economy.
• Sea Chest Cleaning: Clean sea chests, gratings, and strainers to maintain unobstructed seawater intake for cooling and fire systems.
• Anode Replacement: Replace sacrificial anodes to protect the vessel's underwater metal structures from galvanic corrosion.
• Support Equipment Installation: Install and secure underwater support equipment, including temporary plugs, patches, and lifting points.
• Docking Assistance: Assist with docking/undocking procedures by providing underwater guidance and clearing obstructions.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to diving safety protocols, IMCA standards, and company procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Valid IMCA Commercial Diver Certification (e.g., IMCA Air Diver, IMCA Surface Supplied Diver).
• Minimum of 3 years of professional commercial diving experience, preferably in ship husbandry or offshore maintenance.
• Proficiency in underwater inspection techniques and use of diving equipment (e.g., Kirby Morgan helmets, hardwire communications).
• Strong knowledge of cathodic protection systems and anode replacement procedures.
• Excellent physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces at varying depths.
• Certification in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and first aid.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) operations and joint inspection tasks.
• Familiarity with vessel-specific underwater maintenance schedules and dry-docking processes.
• Additional certifications such as NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or Welding Inspector.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and underwater inspection reports.
• Fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
