As a procurement specialist or purchasing officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors to meet organizational needs
- Negotiate contracts, pricing terms, and service agreements to achieve optimal cost savings
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely procurement of materials and supplies
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database with performance metrics
- Prepare purchase orders, RFPs (Requests for Proposal), and comparative bid analyses
- Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies and approved budgets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and warehouse departments
- Track shipments, resolve delivery discrepancies, and manage vendor payment documentation
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as a procurement officer, purchasing specialist, or supply chain analyst
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
