Role Overview: Bagagiste
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Bagagiste (Porter/Bellhop) to join our guest services team at Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial & Spa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding guest arrival experience, handling luggage with care, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed from the moment they step into the hotel. This is a front-facing hospitality role that requires physical stamina, a warm personality, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, creating a memorable first impression of the hotel
- Safely handle, transport, and store guest luggage with the utmost care and professionalism
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel facilities, room features, and amenities
- Assist with valet parking coordination and vehicle management at the hotel entrance
- Respond promptly to guest requests for luggage delivery to rooms or transport arrangements
- Maintain the lobby and entrance area in pristine condition, upholding luxury hotel standards
- Coordinate with the front desk team, concierge, and housekeeping to ensure seamless guest service
- Provide local information and directions to guests regarding Marrakech attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites
- Handle guest deliveries, parcels, and messages efficiently and confidentially
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns in public areas to the appropriate department
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality, hotel, or luxury service environment is preferred
- Strong physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy luggage
- Excellent communication skills in French and/or Arabic; English is a strong plus
- Professional appearance and impeccable personal grooming standards
- Familiarity with Marrakech city geography and key landmarks is an advantage
- Strong sense of discretion and ability to handle guest information confidentially
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude, team spirit, and genuine passion for luxury hospitality
- Knowledge of five-star hotel service standards is highly desirable
