About the Role
The Drilling Fluids Field Service Representative II position involves providing on-site technical support for drilling fluid systems across oil and gas operations in Algeria. You will collaborate with drilling engineers, mud engineers, and site supervisors to optimize fluid performance, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure seamless operations. This is a hands-on role that combines field engineering, fluid analysis, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site testing, analysis, and maintenance of drilling fluid systems to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinate with drilling teams to adjust fluid properties based on real-time well conditions
- Monitor and report fluid properties, including viscosity, density, pH, and filtration rates
- Troubleshoot and resolve drilling fluid issues encountered during operations
- Maintain accurate records of fluid treatments, inventory, and daily activity reports
- Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards at all job sites
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior field personnel and client staff
- Support the development of customized fluid programs tailored to specific well requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in drilling fluids or field service operations within the oil and gas industry
- Strong understanding of drilling fluid chemistry, solids control, and wellbore stability
- Proficiency in field testing equipment and laboratory analysis techniques
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively to remote well sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in challenging environments
- Strong communication and reporting skills in English; French or Arabic proficiency is an asset
- Physical fitness to perform field duties, including lifting equipment and working in harsh weather conditions
