About the Role
Vam Systems is seeking experienced Oracle Developers to join our consulting team in Bahrain. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Oracle database applications, supporting critical business systems for clients across the region. As an Oracle Developer, you will work on complex database architectures, performance tuning, and application development using Oracle's full technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers for high-performance applications
- Build and maintain Oracle Forms (6i/10g/11g/12c) and Oracle Reports for enterprise business logic
- Perform database design, data modeling, and schema optimization for scalability and integrity
- Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans
- Develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications for rapid application deployment
- Implement ETL processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or PL/SQL-based data migration scripts
- Collaborate with functional analysts, project managers, and QA teams to deliver solutions on schedule
- Create technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides
- Support production environments, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches/upgrades
- Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Developer
- Expert proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c/21c
- Strong experience with Oracle Forms & Reports (10g/11g/12c)
- Solid understanding of Oracle APEX for low-code application development
- Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar ETL tools
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, partitioning, indexing strategies
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and version control (Git/SVN)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a consulting environment
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Oracle Certifications (OCP, OCE, or Oracle Cloud certifications)
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Autonomous Database
- Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate for data replication
- Exposure to Java, Python, or .NET for integration layers
- Experience in banking, telecom, or government sector projects in the GCC
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD for database deployments
