Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer to join SARL HAYAT DHC Algérie, a leading manufacturer of household products including BINGO and TEST brands, as well as baby diapers and wipes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical and automation systems across our production facilities in Algiers, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, safety compliance, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and commission electrical control systems and automation solutions for high-speed packaging and converting machinery.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems from major vendors such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution panels, motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo systems.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduce energy consumption, and increase production throughput.
- Collaborate with mechanical, process, and production teams to integrate new equipment and upgrade existing automation infrastructure.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with Algerian electrical codes, IEC standards, and company safety policies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC logic documentation, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide technical support during production shifts, performing rapid root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for automation-related downtime events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation within a high-volume manufacturing environment (FMCG, packaging, food processing, or pharmaceutical preferred).
- Proven expertise in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus).
- Experience with motion control, servo drives, robotics integration, and vision systems is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and asset tracking.
- Professional engineering license or eligibility for registration in Algeria is preferred.
Technical Skills
- PLC Platforms: Siemens S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal; Rockwell Automation ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Studio 5000; Schneider Electric Modicon M580/M340, EcoStruxure.
- HMI/SCADA: WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Vijeo Citect, Ignition.
- Electrical Design: AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, schematic reading, cable sizing, protection coordination.
- Instrumentation: Sensor selection (proximity, photoelectric, pressure, temperature, flow), calibration, signal conditioning.
- Power Systems: Three-phase power distribution, transformer protection, UPS systems, emergency power generation.
- Safety Systems: Safety PLCs, light curtains, safety relays, emergency stop circuits, risk assessment (ISO 13849).
- Data Analysis: Historian trending, OEE reporting, predictive maintenance using vibration analysis or thermal imaging.
