About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Website Administrator / Developer to join a leading international insurance company based in Bahrain for an immediate start. This role is critical to maintaining, enhancing, and securing the company's digital presence across web platforms. You will work closely with marketing, IT, and business teams to deliver high-performance, user-centric web solutions that support core insurance operations and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain corporate websites, intranet portals, and customer-facing web applications on a daily basis
- Develop and deploy new features, enhancements, and modules using modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, .NET, or similar)
- Modify existing functionality to meet evolving business requirements, regulatory changes, and user feedback
- Ensure website security, performance optimization, and compliance with data protection standards relevant to the insurance sector
- Manage CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, or custom CMS) including content updates, plugin management, and version control
- Implement responsive design principles for seamless cross-device and cross-browser compatibility
- Integrate web applications with backend systems (CRM, policy management, claims portals, payment gateways) via APIs and web services
- Monitor website uptime, analytics, and error logs; proactively resolve issues and optimize load times
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible front-end code
- Conduct regular backups, disaster recovery testing, and staging-to-production deployments following CI/CD best practices
- Document technical specifications, code changes, and system architecture for knowledge sharing and audit compliance
- Stay current with emerging web technologies, security vulnerabilities, and industry trends to recommend continuous improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in website administration and full-stack web development
- Proven expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery and at least one server-side language (PHP, C#/.NET, Python, or Java)
- Strong experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, or enterprise CMS like Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager)
- Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and query optimization
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment workflows
- Knowledge of web security best practices (OWASP Top 10, SSL/TLS, CSP, XSS/CSRF prevention)
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, SOAP for system integrations
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with ticketing systems (Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Fluent in English; Arabic language proficiency is a strong advantage for the Bahrain market
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance, banking, or financial services industry
- Certifications: AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Azure Developer, Google Cloud Professional, or CMS-specific certifications
- Front-end frameworks: React, Vue.js, Angular, or Blazor
- Experience with headless CMS architectures and static site generators (Next.js, Gatsby, Hugo)
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and SEO technical optimization
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP)
