About the Role

This postdoctoral position centers on advancing circular economy principles through bioinspired methodologies for biomass valorization. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments on bioinspired conversion processes for multi-source biomass feedstocks
• Develop water-retentive agricultural materials derived from circular biomass transformation
• Analyze physicochemical properties of converted biomass products and evaluate their agricultural applications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on sustainability-focused research projects
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
• Contribute to grant proposals and research funding applications
• Mentor graduate students and assist with laboratory protocol development
• Maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures and results

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Biomass Engineering, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience in biomass conversion, biorefinery processes, or bioinspired materials development
• Strong background in circular economy principles and sustainable resource management
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as FTIR, SEM, TGA, and XRD
• Publication record in relevant high-impact scientific journals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French or Arabic proficiency is an asset
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple research objectives simultaneously
