Position Overview:
The ASARI Institute at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow specializing in Plant Nutrition and Fertilization to join our dynamic research team. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute advanced research experiments focused on plant nutrition, soil fertility, and sustainable fertilization strategies.
- Analyze plant nutrient uptake, soil-plant interactions, and fertilizer use efficiency across various cropping systems.
- Develop innovative fertilization protocols that enhance crop productivity while minimizing environmental impact.
- Conduct laboratory and field-based trials, including greenhouse experiments and on-farm research.
- Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research outcomes at national and international conferences and symposia.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, industry partners, and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to the academic mission of the ASARI Institute.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and research documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- A PhD in Plant Nutrition, Soil Science, Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in plant mineral nutrition, fertilizer management, and soil fertility assessment.
- Strong background in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as ICP-OES, ion chromatography, spectrophotometry, and soil/plant tissue analysis.
- Experience with controlled-environment agriculture, greenhouse trials, and field experimentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is an asset.
- A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals related to plant nutrition or agricultural sciences.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with precision agriculture tools, remote sensing, and digital farming technologies.
- Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, organic fertilization, and integrated nutrient management.
- Experience with biofertilizers, slow-release fertilizers, and nano-fertilizer technologies.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python for data analysis.
- Experience in securing research funding or contributing to successful grant applications.
