About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Team Leader to lead our medical imaging AI development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions within the healthcare sector. This is a leadership role that requires a blend of deep technical expertise in machine learning and computer vision, along with strong project management and team leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers, data scientists, and researchers focused on medical imaging.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of AI model development, from data collection and preprocessing to model training, validation, and deployment.
- Design and implement advanced deep learning architectures (CNNs, Transformers) for medical image analysis, segmentation, and classification.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and radiologists to define clinical requirements and ensure AI solutions meet medical standards.
- Establish best practices for code quality, version control, and MLOps pipelines to ensure scalable and reproducible AI workflows.
- Conduct regular code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.
- Stay updated with the latest research in AI, computer vision, and medical imaging, and integrate innovative techniques into ongoing projects.
- Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and communicate progress to stakeholders and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (such as HIPAA or local equivalents) and ethical AI guidelines in all development processes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Strong experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV) and medical imaging formats (DICOM).
- Domain Knowledge: Proven experience in medical imaging AI, including working with X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, or ultrasound data.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with regulatory pathways for medical software (FDA, CE marking).
- Published research or contributions to open-source projects in the field of medical AI.
