Jamaity, an association dedicated to creating a favorable framework for the development of civil society organizations in Tunisia, is seeking an intern to join its Translation & Writing Department. Based in Tunis, this unpaid internship (Stage non-rémunéré) offers a hands-on opportunity to gain professional experience in content creation, editorial work, and linguistic services within the nonprofit sector.
About the Role: Translation & Editorial Intern
As a translation and editorial intern at Jamaity, you will contribute directly to the association's communication and knowledge-production efforts. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates in languages, journalism, communications, or related fields who are looking to build practical skills in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate written content between French, Arabic, and/or English with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
- Draft, proofread, and edit articles, reports, press releases, and other institutional documents.
- Assist in producing editorial content for Jamaity's website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
- Support the writing team in researching topics related to civil society, governance, and associative development.
- Help maintain and update the association's content database and documentation.
- Participate in editorial planning meetings and contribute creative ideas for content strategy.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and terminology across all translated and written materials.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in translation, languages, journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Strong command of at least two of the following languages: Arabic, French, and English.
- Excellent writing skills with attention to grammar, syntax, and clarity.
- Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and formats.
- Familiarity with basic content management tools and digital platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
