Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic SR. CHARTERER to join our dynamic shipping and logistics team. In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for negotiating and executing complex shipping contracts within the bulk shipping freight market. This is a high-impact position focused on driving the growth and profitability of our freight and chartering activities, requiring deep market knowledge and exceptional negotiation skills.

Core Responsibilities

• Contract Negotiation & Execution: Lead the negotiation, structuring, and execution of shipping contracts, including voyage charters, time charters, and contracts of affreightment (COAs) in the bulk shipping freight market.
• Market Development: Proactively develop and expand the company's freight and chartering activity, identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with shipowners, operators, and cargo interests.
• Profitability & Growth: Ensure the continued growth and profitability of the chartering portfolio through strategic decision-making, risk management, and market analysis.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze global bulk shipping market trends, freight rates, vessel availability, and geopolitical factors to inform chartering strategies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and alignment with overall business objectives.
• Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with chartering activities, including counterparty risk, market volatility, and operational disruptions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in a senior chartering role within the bulk shipping or freight market.
• Deep understanding of charter party terms, shipping contracts, and maritime law.
• Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills with a track record of securing profitable contracts.
• Excellent analytical and market research capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
