About the Role
Bilfinger, a leading international industrial services provider with over 31,000 employees and more than €5.4 billion in revenue in 2025, is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join their team in Bahrain. This role is critical to driving efficiency and sustainability for the process industry, ensuring that all instrumentation systems operate at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair industrial instrumentation devices including transmitters, controllers, sensors, and control valves.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on process control instruments to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic instrumentation systems.
- Conduct loop checks, instrument commissioning, and system integration for new installations and plant turnarounds.
- Interpret and work from technical documents such as P&IDs, loop diagrams, datasheets, and instrument indexes.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize instrument performance and process reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company quality management procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration results, and equipment histories.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation maintenance within oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or similar process industries.
- Strong understanding of process control fundamentals, measurement principles, and instrument communication protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus).
- Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and PLCs is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including offshore and onshore facilities, with adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Valid certification in instrument calibration or related technical training is an advantage.
Required Skills

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, schematic diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISA, IEC, and API.

- Effective communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration.
- Physical fitness to work in demanding industrial settings, including confined spaces and at heights when required.
