Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic team in Egypt. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction contracts, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and commercial reporting, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and project profitability is protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Administration: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage construction contracts, ensuring full compliance with terms, conditions, and legal requirements.
- Claims Management: Prepare, evaluate, and defend contractual claims including variation orders, extension of time (EOT) requests, and cost recovery submissions.
- BOQ Management: Oversee the preparation, verification, and reconciliation of Bills of Quantities, ensuring accuracy in measurement, pricing, and scope definition.
- Project Controls: Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance, providing regular analytical reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Reporting & Analysis: Produce comprehensive commercial reports, risk assessments, and variance analyses to support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve contractual disputes and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all contractual correspondence, amendments, and approvals in accordance with company and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or consultancy environments, with a strong focus on contracts and commercial management.
- Demonstrable expertise in BOQs, claims, contracts, and project controls.
- Exceptional analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.
- Strong understanding of FIDIC conditions of contract and other standard forms of construction contracts.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certification in contract management or quantity surveying (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent).
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
- Familiarity with Egyptian construction law and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in cost estimation and value engineering techniques.
