We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker III to join our manufacturing team. This advanced-level role involves the precision fabrication, maintenance, and repair of complex dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and engineering specifications for tool and die construction
- Set up and operate precision machining equipment including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair high-precision dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures to tight tolerances
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on tooling issues to minimize production downtime
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling design and performance
- Mentor and guide junior tool and die makers on best practices and techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation of tooling modifications, repairs, and maintenance schedules
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker, with advanced-level skills (Level III equivalent)
- Strong proficiency in precision machining, including manual and CNC equipment operation
- Expert-level ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and GD&T specifications
- Deep knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and EDM technology
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tooling projects simultaneously
- Relevant technical certification or apprenticeship completion preferred
