We are looking for a Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to join our team in Algeria on a freelance (on-call) basis. The role covers multiple locations including Algiers, Bejaia, El Biar, Hassi R’Mel, Laghouat, and Ouargla. This position is ideal for an experienced infrastructure professional who can manage hyperconverged environments and provide advanced networking support across distributed sites.
About the Role
As a Nutanix Engineer and IT Networking Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and troubleshooting of Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure and enterprise networking systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional IT teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission‑critical environments. This is a hands‑on technical role suited for someone who thrives in dynamic, on‑call settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Nutanix clusters (AHV, Prism, Flow, Calm) across multiple data center and remote site environments.
- Perform regular health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning on Nutanix infrastructure.
- Provide L2/L3 IT support for networking components including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to virtualization, storage, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and network security.
- Collaborate with system and application teams to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure and business services.
- Document configurations, changes, and incident resolutions in line with ITIL best practices.
- Respond to on‑call incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Support occasional on‑site interventions in Algiers, Bejaia, El Biar, Hassi R’Mel, Laghouat, and Ouargla as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Nutanix Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, or Senior IT Support Engineer with focus on virtualization and networking.
- Strong knowledge of Nutanix AHV, Prism Central, Nutanix Files, and Nutanix Era is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, and firewall policies.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python), and automation is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex infrastructure incidents.
- Ability to work on a freelance / on‑call basis and travel within Algeria when required.
- Strong communication skills in English; French or Arabic is a plus.
