About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to join our team on a freelance, on-call basis across all main cities in Bahrain. This is an immediate-hiring, high-priority role ideal for an experienced IT professional who thrives in dynamic, multi-site environments and brings deep expertise in hyperconverged infrastructure and enterprise networking.
Core Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Nutanix AHV and Nutanix Clusters across client environments in Bahrain.
- Provide hands-on networking IT support including LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Monitor system performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure high availability of Nutanix infrastructure and network services.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues on an on-call basis with rapid response times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Document network topologies, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform regular security audits, patch management, and firmware updates on Nutanix and network devices.
- Support virtualization environments including VMware and Hyper-V where integrated with Nutanix platforms.
- Provide tier-2 and tier-3 escalation support for complex infrastructure incidents.
- Advise clients on infrastructure optimization, capacity planning, and technology upgrades.
Required Qualifications
- Proven professional experience as a Nutanix Engineer or in a combined Nutanix and networking support role.
- Strong working knowledge of Nutanix Prism, AOS, AHV, and Nutanix Move.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, OSPF, BGP, and subnetting.
- Experience with enterprise networking hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Aruba.
- Relevant certifications such as Nutanix NCP, NPP, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP are highly valued.
- Ability to work independently on a freelance, on-call basis across multiple locations in Bahrain.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid cloud integrations with Nutanix.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and IT service management best practices.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting for automation.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nutanix Prism Central, Nagios, PRTG, or SolarWinds.
- Understanding of disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning.
- Additional certifications in VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure, or AWS are advantageous.
