A prominent family office based in Qatar is seeking an experienced Chief Investment & Operating Officer to lead its investment activities and oversee the identification, evaluation, execution, and ongoing management of investment opportunities and portfolios. About the Role: Chief Investment & Operating Officer / Investment Strategy Director
This executive position — also known as an Investment Strategy Director, Head of Family Office Operations, or Senior Portfolio & Operations Executive — is responsible for driving the full investment lifecycle. The successful candidate will act as the principal advisor on all investment matters, ensuring alignment with the family's long-term vision, risk appetite, and governance framework. Core competencies include asset allocation, deal structuring, portfolio diversification, risk mitigation frameworks, and stakeholder governance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities across multiple asset classes including real estate, private equity, fixed income, and alternative investments.
- Develop and implement the overall investment strategy and asset allocation framework in alignment with the family's objectives and risk tolerance.
- Oversee the management and performance monitoring of the existing investment portfolio, providing regular reporting and strategic recommendations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions, fund managers, advisors, and other key stakeholders in the investment ecosystem.
- Design and enforce robust risk management policies and compliance procedures to protect and grow the family's wealth.
- Manage day-to-day operational functions of the family office, ensuring seamless coordination between investment, legal, tax, and administrative teams.
- Lead due diligence processes for potential investments, including financial analysis, market research, and legal review.
- Present investment performance reports and strategic outlooks to the family's board or governing committee on a regular basis.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Extensive experience in investment management, private equity, asset management, or a senior role within a family office or wealth management firm.
- Proven track record of managing large, diversified investment portfolios and delivering consistent risk-adjusted returns.
- Strong knowledge of global financial markets, investment instruments, and regulatory environments.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset.
- Experience in operational management and cross-functional team leadership.
- A relevant advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
