About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial strategy for a multi-property hotel portfolio in Algiers, Algeria. This senior leadership role oversees sales operations across properties with peak room bookings exceeding 300 rooms, driving revenue growth, market penetration, and brand positioning in the competitive Algerian hospitality market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies across multiple hotel properties to achieve revenue targets and maximize RevPAR
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team across all properties, setting clear KPIs and performance benchmarks
- Oversee group sales, corporate accounts, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), and transient business segments
- Manage multi-property revenue management in collaboration with Revenue Managers, optimizing pricing strategies and inventory controls
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts, travel agencies, corporate clients, and online travel agencies (OTAs)
- Direct digital marketing initiatives including website optimization, SEO/SEM, social media campaigns, and email marketing to drive direct bookings
- Conduct competitive analysis and market intelligence to identify new business opportunities and market trends in Algeria and North Africa
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to senior leadership
- Coordinate with operations, F&B, and front office teams to ensure seamless delivery of booked business and exceptional guest experiences
- Negotiate and manage contracts with corporate clients, tour operators, and strategic partners
- Spearhead brand positioning and promotional campaigns for new property openings, renovations, and seasonal offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing, with at least 3 years in a Director-level role managing multi-property portfolios
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth in upscale or luxury hotel brands with 300+ peak rooms
- Deep knowledge of the Algerian hospitality market, local business landscape, and cultural nuances
- Strong expertise in revenue management systems (RMS), CRS, PMS (Opera, Fidelio, etc.), and CRM platforms
- Demonstrated success in MICE sales, corporate account management, and OTA optimization
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills in English and French; Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data, produce forecasts, and make data-driven decisions
- Willingness to travel between properties within Algeria as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international hotel chains or global hospitality management companies
- Certification in Hospitality Revenue Management (CHRM) or similar credentials
- Established network of corporate and government clients in Algiers and major Algerian cities
- Background in pre-opening hotel sales and marketing setup
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools: Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Ads, email automation platforms
