About the Role
BIC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their production facility in Bizerte, Tunisia. This is a full-time permanent position (CDI) focused on ensuring optimal performance and reliability of production equipment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous manufacturing operations at a globally recognized consumer goods company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform curative maintenance on production equipment within assigned perimeter to restore functionality quickly and efficiently
- Execute preventive maintenance programs across all production machinery according to scheduled intervals and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults using systematic troubleshooting methods
- Carry out repairs, adjustments, and component replacements on automated production lines
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on output targets
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, intervention reports, and spare parts inventory documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations during all maintenance activities
- Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and qualification processes as required
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to junior maintenance staff
Requirements
- Technical diploma or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, or Mechatronics
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and PLC logic
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools
- Ability to work in shift patterns and respond to emergency breakdowns
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills in French; English is a plus
- Commitment to safety protocols and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or high-speed packaging environments
- Certification in specific equipment brands (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley PLCs)
- Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles
- Welding and fabrication skills
