About the Role
We are seeking two dynamic and detail-oriented Customs Declarants to join our team in Daïra Rouiba, Algiers. This position welcomes candidates from entry-level to experienced professionals in the customs clearance and international trade sector. The role involves managing import and export documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating smooth cross-border operations for our growing logistics operations in Algeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for import and export shipments
- Classify goods according to harmonized tariff schedules and Algerian customs regulations
- Coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clients to resolve clearance issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs laws, trade agreements, and procedural changes
- Process duty and tax calculations, ensuring timely payment and proper documentation
- Manage customs bonds, guarantees, and temporary admission procedures
- Audit declaration data for accuracy and completeness before submission
- Liaise with Customs Broker partners and regulatory bodies on complex cases
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or related field
- Professional certification as a Customs Clearance Agent or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in customs declaration or freight forwarding operations
- Strong command of Algerian customs code (Code des Douanes) and ASYCUDA World system
- Fluency in French and Arabic; English proficiency is a significant advantage
- Proficiency in customs software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and regulatory compliance
