About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Director to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and end-to-end supply chain operations in Algiers. This role is pivotal in driving cost efficiency, ensuring supply continuity, and optimizing logistics for raw materials, packaging, consumables, and technical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Define and deploy the company's procurement strategy for raw materials, packaging, consumables, and technical services. Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. Implement best practices to reduce lead times and costs.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers. Conduct regular audits and performance reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities. Lead cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of procurement and supply chain professionals. Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure business continuity planning and alternative sourcing options.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and local regulations. Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators for senior management.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
- Languages: Fluency in French and English is required. Arabic is a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker, results-oriented, excellent communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent.
- Experience in the Algerian market and knowledge of local regulations.
- Track record of successful supplier negotiation and cost savings.
