About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Housekeeper to join our hospitality team at Westin. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coordinate the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and laundry services.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and brand standards are met or exceeded.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Manage departmental budgets, control inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, and monitor cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of all guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are upheld.
- Collaborate closely with the Front Office, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure seamless guest service and room readiness.
- Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction scores related to housekeeping, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including local Bahrain hospitality standards and brand-specific guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports on departmental performance, occupancy trends, and staffing levels for senior management.
- Drive sustainability initiatives within the housekeeping operation, including eco-friendly cleaning practices and waste reduction programs.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in housekeeping operations within a luxury or upscale hotel environment, with at least 3 years in a senior management or executive-level role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams in a fast-paced hospitality setting with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage for the Bahrain market.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), housekeeping management software, and inventory control tools.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail with a commitment to maintaining five-star cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Guest-Centric Mindset: Genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and a proactive approach to anticipating guest needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with international hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or similar).
- Certifications in hospitality management, such as Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Bahrain's hospitality regulations and labor laws.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle guest complaints diplomatically and efficiently.
- Experience implementing green housekeeping programs and sustainability best practices.
