Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain end-to-end test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mobile applications, web platforms, APIs, and backend services.
- Execute functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across multiple release cycles.
- Design and implement automation frameworks using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Postman) to accelerate test coverage and reduce manual effort.
- Conduct performance testing and load testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling to ensure system scalability under peak traffic conditions.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Perform API testing and contract testing to validate microservices interactions and data integrity.
- Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, Zephyr, or similar test management tools; drive root cause analysis and verification of fixes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality engineering best practices across the organization.
- Stay current with emerging testing methodologies, AI-driven test automation, and cloud-native testing strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance and testing, with at least 2 years in a specialist or lead capacity.
- Proven expertise in test automation development using Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with mobile testing (iOS/Android) using Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API testing with Postman, RestAssured, or Pact.
- Solid understanding of SQL and database validation techniques for backend verification.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD integration for automated test execution.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and shift-left testing principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Skills
- ISTQB Advanced Level certification (Test Automation Engineer or Technical Test Analyst).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of telecommunications protocols (SIP, Diameter, GTP, SS7) or 5G/4G core network testing.
- Exposure to contract testing (Pact), chaos engineering, or observability-driven testing.
- Familiarity with BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow, JBehave).
- Previous experience in a telco or large-scale enterprise environment.
