Role Overview

We are seeking a professional Hostess to join our vibrant Mexican Restaurant in Bahrain. As the first point of contact for guests, you will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience by providing warm welcomes, efficient seating management, and seamless front-of-house coordination. This role demands a polished presence, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet all guests promptly with a friendly, professional demeanor and determine party size
• Manage the seating chart to optimize table turnover and server workload balance
• Escort guests to clean, properly set tables; pull out chairs and present current menus
• Maintain an accurate waitlist during peak hours, quoting realistic wait times and managing guest expectations
• Answer phone calls, handle reservations, and respond to inquiries about menu, hours, and location
• Coordinate closely with servers, bussers, and management to communicate special requests, allergies, or VIP arrivals
• Ensure the host stand, entryway, and waiting area remain clean, organized, and inviting at all times
• Assist with opening and closing duties including reservation book setup and floor plan preparation
• Handle guest complaints or concerns with empathy and escalate to management when necessary

Requirements

Hard Skills

• Proven experience as a restaurant host, hostess, or in a guest-facing hospitality role
• Proficiency with reservation and POS systems (OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms, or similar)
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills highly preferred for the Bahrain market
• Knowledge of Mexican cuisine menu items, ingredients, and beverage pairings
• Basic cash handling and payment processing accuracy
• Understanding of sanitation and safety standards compliant with Bahrain health regulations
