Role Overview
We are seeking an Experienced DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), CI/CD pipelines, and Temenos banking software to join our platform engineering team in Muscat, Oman. This role focuses on building, automating, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure for core banking systems. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the platform lifecycle, from provisioning and configuration management to continuous delivery and observability, ensuring seamless deployment of Temenos Transact and related financial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage OCI cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) for banking workloads.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for automated build, test, and deployment of Temenos modules and microservices.
- Administer and optimize Temenos T24 / Transact environments, including application servers, databases, and middleware integration layers.
- Implement container orchestration with Kubernetes (OKE) and Docker for modernizing legacy banking components.
- Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and OCI Monitoring.
- Enforce security best practices: network segmentation, IAM policies, secrets management (Vault), and compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to enable GitOps workflows and reduce deployment lead time.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery drills for high-availability banking platforms.
- Automate routine operational tasks using Python, Bash, or Go to improve system reliability and reduce manual toil.
Requirements
Hard Skills
- 5+ years hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineering experience in enterprise or banking environments.
- Advanced proficiency with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, IAM, Security Zones.
- Expert-level CI/CD pipeline design using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools; experience with ArgoCD or Flux for GitOps.
- Strong working knowledge of Temenos T24 / Transact architecture, deployment models, and upgrade procedures.
- Solid experience with Kubernetes (OKE, EKS, AKS), Helm charts, Operators, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
- Infrastructure as Code mastery: Terraform (modules, state management), Ansible (playbooks, roles).
- Scripting and automation: Python, Bash, Go for tooling and operator development.
- Database administration: Oracle RAC, Exadata, PostgreSQL; backup, replication, and performance tuning.
- Observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry; log aggregation with ELK/EFK.
- Security hardening: TLS/mTLS, HashiCorp Vault, OCI KMS, CIS benchmarks, PCI-DSS awareness.
