About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Amaru. In this role, you will assist in supervising kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a seamless workflow. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to uphold the restaurant's standards of excellence and creativity.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen workers to ensure efficient operations.
• Determine how food should be presented and create decorative displays that align with the restaurant's vision.
• Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas.
• Monitor food quality and consistency, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
