Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Consultant with deep expertise in Apache Kafka to join our team in Rabat, Morocco. This is a contract-based role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance Kafka clusters in a production environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and reliability of streaming data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage large-scale Apache Kafka deployments, including cluster provisioning, monitoring, and tuning.
• Automate infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar, with a focus on Kafka ecosystem components (Connect, Streams, Schema Registry).
• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines for Kafka configuration and application deployment.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for Kafka-related production issues.
• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize data streaming architectures for low latency and high throughput.
• Produce comprehensive documentation and best practices for Kafka operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps Consultant with at least 5 years in a similar role.
• Expert-level knowledge of Apache Kafka internals, including broker tuning, partitioning strategies, and consumer group management.
• Strong proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) – familiarity with Moroccan or European cloud providers is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English and French; Arabic is advantageous for local collaboration.
