Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our client's IT team in Doha, Qatar. This is a 12-month initial contract with extension potential, offering a competitive negotiable salary package including visa sponsorship, health insurance, end-of-service benefits (EOSB), and annual leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, and implement performance tuning
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services
- Administer backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, CommVault, or similar)
- Implement and maintain security patches, antivirus, and endpoint protection
- Manage network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and escalate complex issues
- Document system configurations, SOPs, and runbooks
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience as a System Administrator
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) preferred
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management processes
- Relevant certifications: MCSA/MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Server+, or CCNA are advantageous
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment in Doha, Qatar
